on his plate next season."When the Atlanta Falcons traded up to select Russell Gage in the sixth round of the draft last season Womens Duke Shelley Jersey , it was viewed exclusively as a move to bolster special teams with the potential of having Gage slot in as WR depth. Gage was, after all, drafted as a gunner for special teams purposes. The Falcons could be looking at Russell Gage as the team’s fourth wide receiver in 2019. The depth chart at the position is pretty thin at the moment — Justin Hardy is currently a free agent, and Marvin Hall just signed with the Chicago Bears. Gage is currently the only WR on the roster outside of Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Mohamed Sanu. Now, that’s not to say that the team won’t bring in more competition at the position via the draft Cheap Duke Shelley Jersey , free agency, or training camp additions. The Falcons, however, haven’t actively been linked to any WRs in free agency, and if they do go WR in the draft it’ll probably be a very late selection.Gage hauled in six receptions on 10 targets for 63 total yards as the team’s sixth wide receiver on the depth chart in 2018. He was always going to be a work in progress at the position after totaling just 26 receptions for 347 receiving yards in four years of college ball at LSU.The tools are there for Gage to cultivate a role as a contributing WR — he ran a 4.42 40-time at the LSU’s Pro Day last year, and recorded a 39-inch vertical jump. He’s also an option for some gadget plays and Jet Sweeps, as evidenced by the 232 rushing yards he recorded in his senior season. The LSU alum is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. What Gage has going for him more than anything else may be his blocking. In 60 snaps of play as a WR this season White Duke Shelley Jersey , PFF gave him a 73.8 run blocking grade, which was second on the team among WRs (behind only Justin Hardy).Gage will be given his opportunity to fight for and win the fourth WR job in training camp against the other additions Atlanta will make at the position between now and then. The fight for that WR4 job will be one of the most exciting battles at Flowery Branch come July.Even if Russell Gage doesn’t win that battle, he still has a spot on this team as the special teams gunner he was drafted as. Pace is the first Chicago Bears front office exec to have been nominated for this honor."Not one Chicago Bears fan is likely to forget about the 2018 NFL off-season anytime soon. Like, ever, to be completely honest. Yet, to this day, the chief architect of this team still has yet to receive full dues on the work he’s put into this roster. So much Duke Shelley Chicago Bears Jerseys , in fact, that he has been named Sporting News’ Exec Of The Year. Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times was the first to report the news. This award was presented and ratified by his peers during the latest annual league meeting at the Arizona Biltmore. This is unlike Colts’ GM Chris Ballard’s Exec of the Year from the Pro Football Writers of America, where a selected panel casts their votes for nominees. His full list of accomplishments would take hours to describe in detail. Rather, here are some of the highlights from his 2018 year alone: Traded for All-Pro OLB Khalil Mack Signed Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, and Trey BurtonRe-signed Kyle Fuller & Prince Amukamara Drafted Roquan Smith, James Daniels Chicago Bears Jerseys Stitched , Anthony Miller, and Bilal Nichols Hired NFL Coach of the Year Matt Nagy to replace John Fox He, Pace, faced a great deal of adversity headed into the 2018 season. After starting off his career 14-34 as the Bears’ presiding GM, people were quick to pass judgment and ask for his firing on social media platforms. Not many GMs can say they’ve survived their first head coaching hire despite that hiring turning into a disappointment. Instead, Pace faced the challenge head-on, and his hard work finally began to pay off with his monumental change at the coaching staff. He took his efforts to another level Youth Duke Shelley Jersey , and built a young championship-caliber roster which is ready to compete for years to come. Players like Mitchell Trubisky, Tarik Cohen, Akiem Hicks, Kyle Fuller, Charles Leno Jr., and Eddie Jackson all earned their first Pro Bowl honors this year alone. And his work is still not done. Redemption is a rare opportunity in the NFL; Ryan Pace has certainly fulfilled that opportunity. Here’s to hoping for many more years of excellence under Ryan Pace’s vision. |
