HI,

Operatic, this illusive word describing... what? That someone sings loud? Uses a wide vibrato? Certain phrasing? I don't get it. To me, operatic means a singing technique used by opera singers.I just read a review of a Star One album where Damian Wilson is described as having "an oparatic tone"(?). I don't hear it? I have also seen Messiah Marcolin being referred to as using operatic vocals. How?The only instances where I have heard something that could be described as operatic vocals are in some of these female fronted goth metal/orchestral metal type bands, since they are using a style somewhat slightly mimicking that used by opera singers. But if I had the choice I would call the style Tarja Turunen and her likes are using opera-ish, because operatic it is not.So, anyone ever heard some Pavarottic vocals in metal?

Please help.

I did not find the right solution from the internet.
